THE COMMITTEE
It is proposed
Said Mr Jones
The Chairman to be sure,
I second that
Said Mrs Smith
A chorus of Here! Here!
The cry came from the table top
“What was it we proposed?”
“I do suppose”
Said Mr Jones
“The rates will cover all”.
An ear horn
A snore or two
Another cup of tea
“Take a biscuit”
Mrs Green
“Don’t mind if I do
Oh there’re the best
The chocolate kind.
I’ll take just one or two”.
“I’m getting sore,
These leather chairs,
Let’s have a Parker knoll”
“It is proposed
The Chairman said
A nod from all and all.
