Issues Virus

Issues in care may include observations not done, patient not being given pressure care, patient not bathed, records not written, Dr not contacted for whatever reason.

Issues in construction may include wrong measurements, reel of cable left out, wires wrongly connected, water or gas pipes not connected, safety gear not worn, wprkman sat reading newspaper.

Issues in education may include records not written, planning not done, student problems not attended to, mis-information given, health and safety issues neglected, teacher leaving students alone.

Issues in a shop may include snapping at  a customer, not charging for something, incorrect pricing, out of date stock

Isues in parliament may include lying, fraud, falsification of records, secrecy, bias.

What does this tell us? Isues may occur in all jobs. The underlying theme is neglect to adhere to procedures where there are any. For this there may be several reasons such as staffing and training. A common link may well be attitudes of society- this may dictate how somebody deals with the situation. Many appear apathetic and complacent. We need to accept responsibility for ourselves and eachother. Do not adhere to  the herd.

Support for patients and relatives

Yet more cases of poor care- possble neglect medical and nursing within healthcare, whether NHS or private UK AND overseas.

Again we need independent advocates; not connected to the establishment in any way, and able to represent the patient .how to fund it we are uncertain. When relatives or patients suspect something is wrong eg observations not done, or pain control not given, they do not always have the strength to question or argue- being so distresed. If death occurs- they are too distressed to chase it up. If death does not occur, they are sometimes so grateful- they overlook the issues that arose on the way.

If issues are not raised, it may well happen to somebody else.

There is again,  a great need for cameras in all areas.

Study finds less degree degree nurses linked to death rates 2014

Just my thoughts. We all know a certain type of poor care plus patient deaths, may result from low staffing of any kind.

Does this study take account of the number of care assistants who undertake  a vital role?

Does the study consider the reasons for the patient deaths? ie is the death to be solely blamed on the absence of  a degree nurse?

How is  a degree to be defined? The degree differs between all Universities in the UK, and certainly between countries.

Indeed, studies within the UK, have found the degree to inadequately prepare nurses for practice (Dimon 2013).

There will also be differences between nursing fields. Is  a full 3 year degree needed to practice in all fields?

Background to book the commodity of care

Interesting and relevant this.

We began considering quality of care, and campaigning, 30 years ago. This invloved analysing the care at the side of the patient in whatever establishment regardless of who owned it, in whatever country. We now realise it goes way beyond the bedside and the staff themselves- despite atitudes at times (which can be socially generated). From this we have arrived at political considerations such as neoliberalism, work ethic, treatment of the unemployed etc, blood doning and body parts. This is all indicative of the extent to which people are regarded as commodities. Coupled with political secrecy and information being blocked (do have refs), no wonder some may believe poor care does not exist or fail to see the importance.

"Listen to the Voices"

The independent voice is being muffled in the whole of society- in many countries, including the UK. See blog secrecy on this site. The major voices /players are they who are in the professional circuit or club hence we get professional committee or conference attenders/authors/researchers.

This is at the heart of all problems- not only in nursing or care.

There are some exceptions which proves that shear determination- in numbers may help.

There are also at present, several alternative news web sites- which are of no less quality than regular newspapers or journals.

Panorama 10.2.14- student visas and fake English tests- NOW Theresa  May listens. Government and other major agencies, and individuals, have known about fake qualifications in anything, for months- with evidence. Similar – poor care- knew about it certainly 30 years ago. This is the real issue people- why nobody listens/believes.

Panorama, Immigration Undercover: The Student Visa Scandal – BBC

Some issues- few will address publically.

Free updates still available to book The commodity of care

qualityofnursingcare.webs.com

This gives a radical analysis of healthcare UK, USA, Australia- essential for health practitioners, and student nurses.

Written by somebody who is not connected to any nursing body or establishment.

For they who dare to question and discuss.

People fail to see the relevance of this book sadly- or perhaps they think I am trying to sell a  book for my own gain??

This is part of the problem in nursing, which is why knowledge to both staff and public, is restricted..

This book includes analysis of the complaints system in the private AND NHS sector- including the ombudsman.

Also the NMC, politics, nurse education, and the definition of poor care.

The book also considers issues within USA and Australia which are similar.

People ARE commodities

Not just care that is  a commodity; people are. Consider body parts sold, and blood in certain countries.

The poor are so poor, they sell blood plasma twice  a week for the full year. More to come lenin2u.wordpress.com

What else can we sell???

Big business. New world order.

Plagiarism-more thoughts--

Posted by caroldimon on January 29, 2014 at 10:35 AM Comments comments (0)

More thoughts on plagiarism- add to plagiarism or bust article. Is plagiarism becoming the norm?

Another consideration is - journalism. News articles often seem to repeat the same info or phrases. Few would read the newspaper with a list of references. Different rules do apply to journalism however.

Perhaps some may expand on this?
